I was on a sunny beach in Goa cribbing about home and my worthless job, which paid me almost nothing but claimed to have a ‘career’ in future. That was the time when I realized I was doing a job I didn’t like for the money that couldn’t even sponsor my Goa trip well. Let’s not forget the endless rants with the manager to give me a week long leave because ‘there was an emergency’ at my end.
That was when I realized I didn’t need all this, my family was financially sound and not dependent on me, I was 22 and I had all the right in the world to take some risks and learn from my mistakes. And so I did. I started searching for writing jobs online desperately, I wanted to at least see what the pay was like and if I could even make that into a living.
And in doing that I learned a lot of things, most important one was that there are not many people who tell the truth about freelance writing – they will give you tips and tricks and all that horse crap but nobody actually tells you how you can move ahead as a beginner and earn from what you love.
It took me a while to figure it all out but I finally did it. Though I just wish I had one single place where I could have learned it all together, I lost a lot of projects just because I didn’t know the protocols not because I wasn’t a good writing.
In the meantime, while I was sharing my experience in tit bits on Twitter, I started getting queries from so many other bloggers about freelance writing and how I was actually doing it all.
That was when I decided to start this website, to help all of those wandering souls who love writing but are stuck in a terrible job like I was, just because they don’t know how to move forward.
I hope I am able to help atleast a few of you through this. If you have any doubts about it or you want to ask anything, feel free to fill up this form
